A slider, a form, a popup, a second form because the first one broke, a caching plugin to fix the speed the other twenty-nine cost you. Each install adds scripts, database queries and an update you now depend on a stranger to ship. Most of what plugins are used for here is twenty lines of theme code that never needs updating.

Once a site is fragile, updating it becomes risky, so it stops being updated — and an unpatched WordPress site with old plugins is the most reliably compromised thing on the Pakistani web. The compromise usually shows up as spam pages that quietly destroy the search visibility you paid for.

When WordPress is the right answer, and when it is not
The useful version of this comparison is not about features. Both platforms will sell things. It is about who is responsible when something breaks at 2am.
WordPress and WooCommerce make sense when you want to own the whole thing outright with no platform fee, when your catalogue is small or your content matters more than your checkout, when you already have someone semi-technical, or when you are selling something a hosted platform's rules do not comfortably allow. There is no monthly fee to a platform, and no third-party gateway surcharge, which for a Pakistani seller is a real and ongoing difference — a WooCommerce development company in Pakistan can wire PayFast or a bank gateway straight in without a platform taking a second cut.
It stops making sense when order volume is high, your team is small and nobody wants to think about hosting, patching, backups or PCI. At that point the platform fee is buying you attention back, and pretending otherwise costs more than it saves. We will say so, and the Shopify page is one link away.
