FAQ

WordPress Development questions.

Do you use a page builder like Elementor?
Only when you specifically want one. By default we build clean, custom themes with native editor blocks — they're faster, more secure and easier to maintain than heavy page-builder stacks.
Can I edit the site myself afterwards?
Yes — that's the point. We set up clear, branded content blocks and give you a short walkthrough so you can edit pages and publish without touching code.
Is WordPress secure enough for my business?
WordPress is as secure as how it's built. We harden it, keep plugins minimal and updated, add backups and monitoring, and offer a maintenance plan if you'd rather we keep it locked down.
Can you sell products on WordPress?
Yes, via WooCommerce — a good fit for smaller catalogues and content-led stores. For high-volume DTC we'll usually recommend Shopify and tell you honestly which suits you.
WordPress or Shopify for a store — which should we pick?
If selling is the business, Shopify, almost every time. WooCommerce is genuinely capable and it is the right answer when the shop is a secondary part of a content site, or when the product model is odd enough that Shopify's structure fights you. But it puts you in charge of hosting, updates, PCI scope and the day a plugin conflict takes checkout down at the worst possible moment. Shopify takes that whole category of problem off your desk. We build both and we will tell you which your situation actually is.
Why do you avoid page builders?
Because of what they cost later rather than what they do now. A builder writes its own markup into the database, so the content stops being portable — a redesign means rebuilding rather than restyling, and leaving the builder means leaving the content. They also carry weight on every page whether or not a page uses the features. Native blocks and purpose-built templates are marginally more work up front and considerably cheaper to live with. Where a client already has a builder and a team trained on it, we work with it rather than starting a fight.
Can our team actually edit it without breaking the design?
That is a build decision, not a training problem. Editors get blocks with real constraints — fixed layouts, image sizes that cannot be pasted wrong, headings that follow the document structure — so the ways to break it are designed out rather than written up in a manual nobody opens. The test we use is whether someone who was not in any of the meetings can publish a page in fifteen minutes without asking anyone. If they cannot, the build is not finished.
How do you keep a WordPress site fast when everyone says they are slow?
Most of them are slow for two reasons and neither is WordPress. The first is plugin count — every plugin loads on every page by default, including the ones doing nothing there. The second is images uploaded straight from a phone at full resolution. Fix those two and cache properly, and an ordinary business site is fast without anything clever. Anything beyond that is measured against real Core Web Vitals rather than a synthetic score out of a hundred.
