Mist Organics — a custom Shopify theme for a homeopathic skincare brand

We designed and built a custom Shopify theme for Mist Organics, a homeopathic skincare and wellness brand selling across Pakistan. Cash on delivery, WhatsApp support, bundles and per-product claims are built into the theme itself, across 62 products and 41 homeopathic kits. Design to launch in a week and a half.

Mist Organics — a custom Shopify theme for a homeopathic skincare brand

The brief

A homeopathic skincare and wellness brand selling across Pakistan needed a store built around how its customers actually buy: cash on delivery, a question on WhatsApp first, and a phone in hand.

Mist Organics sells two very different things from one store: a small line of skincare and haircare products (sunscreen, face wash, anti-ageing cream, hair serum) and a range of 41 fifteen-day homeopathic kits, each made for a specific concern. Its customers are almost all in Pakistan, and they buy the way Pakistani online shoppers usually do: on a phone, mostly paying cash on delivery, and often only after asking a question on WhatsApp.

The store was running on a stock theme dressed up with changes. It could not tell the products apart. Every product shared one template, so a sunscreen and a hair spray showed the same layout, the same benefit points and no pack size, and the claims that make each product distinct had nowhere to go. The features that matter in this market, such as a quick COD order form, bundles, quantity offers and a one-tap route to WhatsApp, were either missing or would have meant stacking paid apps, each adding its own scripts to a page that was already slow on mobile data.

The brand wanted a theme that was entirely its own, fast on a mid-range phone, and editable by its own team: new kits, new banners and new product copy without calling a developer.

The build

We built a custom Online Store 2.0 theme from scratch. It has no build step and no dependencies: all styles live in one stylesheet and all behaviour in one vanilla JavaScript file, with no theme apps adding scripts. It ships 47 sections, 28 of which the Mist Organics team can add and rearrange in the theme editor, and seven product templates, so the homeopathic kits, the slimming drops, the anti-ageing range and the consultation product each get the layout that suits them.

Per-product copy comes from metafields rather than the template. Pack size, subtitle, a headline claim such as "Aqueous Base" and up to four benefit chips are fields on each product in Shopify admin, so ten products can share one template and still read differently. The 41 kits use four rich-text metafields for their collapsible rows ("What makes it different", "Our approach", "Who may consider it", "Important note"), and a row disappears on any product where its field is empty.

The conversion features are built into the theme: a cash-on-delivery order form, an AJAX cart drawer with a free-shipping bar, a bundle builder, quantity offers, a sticky add-to-cart, a WhatsApp assistant and a mobile bottom navigation with chat one tap away. Around them sit a product-finder quiz, quick view, wishlist, recently viewed, predictive search, before/after sliders and video reviews. Collections use Shopify's native Search & Discovery filters over AJAX, so filtering never reloads the page.

Search and speed were part of the build, not an afterthought. The theme emits canonical tags, per-page meta descriptions, Open Graph cards and Product, Organization and WebSite JSON-LD. Every image carries its width, height and alt text and is sized to where it is displayed. Hero banners ship as separate desktop and square mobile artwork, and later slides are held back so the first one paints first.

The limits of what this study can say: the theme went live recently, so we have no before-and-after conversion or revenue figures to publish, and none are claimed here. The figures above are counted from the theme and the live catalogue.
