The arithmetic nobody shows you
A test that cannot reach significance is a coin toss with an invoice.
This is the part of the industry that most deserves scepticism, and the maths is not complicated. Three things decide whether a testing programme is a real proposition for your store.
You need enough conversions, not enough visitors
Significance depends on how many people complete the action, not how many arrive. A store converting at two per cent needs a great deal of traffic before a test can distinguish a genuine five per cent improvement from noise — often more weeks than the seasonality of your business will hold still for. Below that threshold, a testing programme produces results that look decisive and are not, and every decision made from them is a guess wearing a lab coat.
Most of the win is not a test at all
For the majority of stores the largest available gains are not subtle. A checkout that reveals delivery cost at the final step. Product images that load slowly enough that people leave first. A mobile filter panel that cannot be closed one-handed. A returns policy nobody can find. None of these needs an experiment to justify fixing — they need somebody to go through the funnel on a phone and write down what happened.
The programme that outlives its usefulness
Monthly testing retainers have the same structural problem as monthly content retainers: the deliverable is the activity rather than the outcome, so the tests keep coming whether or not there is anything left worth testing. A store with real traffic and a well-run programme genuinely benefits. A store that has already taken the obvious wins is paying for button colours.
What we can prove, and what we cannot
No published conversion case studies, in any market. The campaign and growth write-ups in our library are drafts and are staying there for now, so this page cannot show you a percentage with a client's name attached. That matters more in this category than in any other on the site, because outcome is what a conversion agency sells — so treat this page as an argument rather than as evidence, and test the argument against your own analytics.
The test you can run on us in five minutes
Open your analytics and find your weekly completed orders. If that number is in the tens, no agency on earth can run you a statistically valid split test inside a sensible timeframe, and any Shopify CRO agency USA or UK merchants are quoted by that proposes a testing programme without asking for that number first has not looked. If it is in the thousands, testing is a genuine proposition and the rest of this page is the smaller half of what we would do for you.
What we would actually do for most stores
Go through your funnel on a mid-range phone, with a real card, and write down every point of friction with a screenshot. Fix those. Measure the before and after on the whole funnel rather than on a variant. It is unglamorous, it is finite, and for a store below the traffic threshold it is the entire opportunity — which is why we would rather sell it to you as a fixed piece of work that ends than as a programme that does not.
And where we would be wrong to take the work
If your store already loads fast, the funnel has been audited, the obvious friction is gone, and you have the volume to test properly — then you want a specialist conversion agency with a track record of published experiments, and you should hire one. That is a real discipline with real expertise in it, our published evidence in it is nothing, and we would say so on the call.
Build proof
Stores where the funnel work happened during the build.
How it runs
Check the arithmetic first.
Free conversion teardown
Your funnel walked on a real phone, friction listed with screenshots — plus whether your volume supports testing at all.
Fix the obvious
The friction that needs no experiment to justify removing, as a fixed piece of work with a defined end.
Measure the funnel, not a variant
Before and after across the whole path to purchase, so the number means something at your traffic level.
Test only if the maths allows
And if it does not, we say so and stop rather than selling you a programme that cannot conclude anything.
